As CBK Hardware, Inc. celebrates its remarkable milestone of 104 years in the industry, the company remains deeply committed to giving back to the community. Aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal of No Poverty, CBK has partnered with Gawad Kalinga's Kusina ng Kalinga program, which focuses on combating chronic hunger and malnutrition among Filipino children.
On September 21, 2024, CBKians from various departments came together as volunteers at the SM GK Village in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, to participate in this meaningful event. In honor of the 104th anniversary, 104 children were invited to join the celebration. The day began with meal preparation for the children, with assistance from Gawad Kalinga staff.
The celebration continued with a series of fun games, including "Over Under, Over Under," "Calamansi Relay," and "Pass the Message," which filled the day with joy and excitement for the children. Afterward, CBKians distributed packed lunches that the children enjoyed before resuming the festivities. While the children were having lunch, the CBKians and Gawad Kalinga staff shared a meal together as a gesture of gratitude for the volunteers' support and the warm hospitality of Gawad Kalinga.
The activities resumed with another lively game, "Hep, Hep, Hurray," followed by the distribution of 104 school supply kits to the children. The event concluded with a group photo, capturing the smiles of the 104 invited children, the CBKians, and the Gawad Kalinga team.
The 104th anniversary celebration of CBK Hardware, Inc. was a resounding success, underscoring the company's commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. The children's laughter and joy brought immense fulfillment to all the volunteers.
