September 7, 2024, was a meaningful day for CBKians from the Purchasing, System Applications and Products (SAP), Master Data Planning and Control (MPC), Information Technology, and Executive Office Departments. On this day, they were deeply moved by the story of the month's chosen beneficiary, which highlighted the educational challenges many face.
The event, held in Mandaluyong City, began with a short program, including a virtual meet-and-greet with Ms. Anya Postma, a Hanunuo Mangyan, and Ms. Ethel, a friend of Ms. Rainey Dolatre, who facilitated the connection between Ms. Anya and Cartwheel. Following the introduction, CBKians eagerly participated in repacking school supplies.
CBKians prepared a variety of essential school materials, such as pad papers for Grades 1-4, spiral notebooks, pens, pencils, and crayons. These items were thoughtfully packed into 180 goodie bags, ready to bring joy and educational support to students. The school supplies will be sent to Oriental Mindoro, thanks to Ms. Anya Postma, who helped coordinate this initiative with the Cartwheel Foundation through Ms. Rainey’s efforts.
The beneficiaries of these supplies are students from Panaytayan Elementary School, Sinariri Elementary School, Kilapnit Elementary School in Mansalay, and Salay Elementary School in Bulalacao. These schools are located 2 to 4 hours away on foot from the town proper, and Ms. Anya, in her dedication, will personally walk this distance to deliver the donations from CBK Hardware, Inc.
Through these efforts, CBK brings change and makes lives better, one help at a time. Together with Cartwheel Foundation, Inc., CBK takes a step toward fulfilling the dreams of these children, paving the way for a brighter and better future.
