CBK Hardware, Inc. highlights United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and shows its commitment to enhancing community well-being through sustainable initiatives by selecting Barangay Lawa Day Care Center in Meycuayan, Bulacan, as its beneficiary last April 20, 2024.
Barangay Lawa Day Care Center serves as a foundational educational institution for kindergarten students in Meycuayan. Unfortunately, the school is facing a significant challenge—a leaking roof, which hampers the learning environment of its students. Despite efforts, the local government unit's budget constraints have prevented the necessary reconstruction work from being completed.
This issue has inspired CBK to partner with the local government of Lawa, Meycuayan, Bulacan, to extend its monetary support for the Barangay Day Care Center’s roof renovation and to hand over its product donations from Aco, Eurostream, Westinghouse, Stanley, 3M, Tactix, and KL and Ling. Additionally, CBKians from the Web and Digital, and Store Consignor Office (SCO) departments volunteered to re-paint the exterior walls of the school. On top of this, the team also provided food for some of the students and community officials who attended the one-day activity.
This involvement in helping a local school taught the CBKians how important it is not just to have a better society to live in but to also have an environment conducive to learning.
