In a meaningful collaboration rooted in compassion and empowerment, CBK Hardware Inc. partnered with the Development Action for Women Network (DAWN) to support a one-day livelihood training program for distressed women migrants returning from Japan, their Japanese-Filipino children, and other Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). The initiative aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, promoting inclusive employment and sustainable economic opportunities.

The program brought together eight women for a hands-on sewing and weaving workshop, giving participants the chance to develop new skills they can carry forward into future livelihood opportunities. CBKians from the Human Resources and Fairbanks departments who joined the session gained a deeper appreciation for the craft and the determination behind each piece created.
CBK provided full funding for the one-day training, covering both the sewing and weaving sessions, as well as transportation allowances for all participants to ensure accessibility. To enhance the learning environment, CBK also donated two Aco Nest stand fans to provide added comfort during the intensive workshop, along with a cash donation.

But beyond practical skills, the day reflected something deeper—resilience, sisterhood, and hope. Each participant carried out a unique story of overcoming hardship, and the training became a space not just for learning, but for rebuilding and reconnecting.

As CBK continues to uphold its commitment to community empowerment and inclusive growth, this initiative serves as a reminder that real impact doesn’t require grand gestures—just genuine support, one act at a time. With each step, each stitch, and each shared effort, we help make the journey forward a little brighter.
