With CBK’s founding belief in providing quality home improvement products to Filipinos, they also aspire to improve the lives of the people they are serving. Since then, CBK’s Corporate Social Responsibility has been the heart of the company – helping to turn their aspirations into reality and inspiring beneficiaries to hope for a better future.
This year, CBK’s CSR committee created monthly thematic projects for their partnered organizations and communities. Stemming from #PusongCBKian’s malasakit and pakikipagkapwa key messages, #CBKians were #CalltoBeKind as they found new joy by sharing their talents and knowledge with the less fortunate and found new love by caring for the environment.
The Accounting and Treasury departments celebrated Women’s Month at the Missionaries of Charity: Alay ng Puso Feeding Center, a home for the sick and malnourished children in San Nicolas, Manila. They were welcomed with smiles as they turned over bags of grocery items and Sankie nets that will support their community feeding and pantry projects.
The Tambo-based Document Processing Center (DPC) and Service departments, on the other hand, immersed with the forest rangers of the Forest Foundation of the Philippines in Rizal. The Forest Foundation of the Philippines is a non-profit organization that provides grants and assistance to organizations such as Philippine Parks and Biodiversity Conservation Service Inc. (PPBCSI) that empowers the local organizations and individuals to protect and conserve the Philippine biodiversity. The teams learned a lot about the preservation and conservation of the environment from the forest rangers themselves. CBK Hardware Special Assistant to the Vice Presidents Ms. Lizel Abraham, led the turning over of gardening tools and equipment from Worth Garden, Kingjet, Leo Pump, and Stanley to PPBCSI.
The Human Resources, Store Consignor Operations, and Web & Digital departments wanted to raise mental health awareness by visiting a care-facility, that caters patients with acute and chronic treatment- and providing counseling and therapeutic services at the Clinic of the Holy Spirit in Cubao. It is a DOH-licensed psychiatric hospital with a 100-bed facility treatment center for patients who are at least 16 years old and above. The team surprised the patients and staff members with fun games and invited them to do the #TatakCBKian dance moves. To culminate the activity, Westinghouse floor fans and hygiene kits were formally turned over by the team to the facility.
Because sharing is not just donating, it’s about bringing joy to the less fortunate and their communities.
