On June 29, 2024, the New Market team and Executive Assistants from CBK had the opportunity to visit the well-maintained rescue center located in Subic Bay, operated by Wildlife in Need (WIN), a US-based non-profit organization with a presence in the Philippines. WIN is dedicated to tackling pressing environmental issues such as combating the wildlife pet trade, rescuing and rehabilitating animals, raising awareness about environmental conservation, and enhancing animal welfare.
During their visit, CBKians enthusiastically engaged in preparing food and feeding the sheltered animals. They then took the initiative to clean the entire area, significantly contributing to the sanctuary's maintenance and leaving a positive impact. The CBKians cherished their interactions with the wildlife, particularly their memorable moments with macaques named Chito and Lea. Additionally, CBKians demonstrated their commitment by donating essential supplies such as cleaning materials, protective tarpaulins for enclosures, and fences, as well as providing financial support to meet the foundation's ongoing needs.
The experience not only provided valuable hands-on involvement in wildlife conservation efforts but also fostered a deeper appreciation among CBKians for the vital work carried out by WIN in preserving biodiversity and promoting animal welfare in the Philippines.
