It was a celebration of camaraderie and good sportsmanship in the first Mayapa CBK’s sports fest, which aims to boost employees’ self-confidence and improve their health amidst their busy work schedule by promoting fitness through fun-filled games and sports activities.
The Sports fest was held at the Mayapa CBK facility in Laguna, wherein employees from Mayapa CBK and HR Department proudly wave their respective team colors -Blue, Red, Green and Yellow as they parade to open the sporting event. CBK HR Department led by Ms. Anna Soriaga VP of Human and Financial Capital Management gave an inspirational opening speech and remind employees to build friendship and team spirit and maintain a healthy relationship among employees.
CBK HR and Warehouse Manager Israel Cruz led the “Panunumpa ng mga Manlalaro” and promised for a fair sports fest. The Mayapa CBK and HR Department employees participated in different sporting events such as Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Darts, Badminton, Chess and Amazing Race and even the e-sports: Mobile Legends and Call of Duty.
The CBK Chess Grand Master Roger de Ocampo of Blue team became Champion in the Chess category and Masters Aldrian Bayola and Buenaventura Canedo, both from Green Team placed 1st and 2nd respectively. While another individual sports category- Darts made Freddie Marfa of Yellow Team secured his first CBK Dart Master title and made his fellow CBKians Marianito Vicente of Red Team won 1st runner up and Christian Barnuevo of Green Team won 2nd runner up.
John Sanchez of Green Team displays his endurance on the court as he won champion in the Badminton category while Yellow Team Ruth Calizar and Kurt Pesigan won 1st and 2nd runner up respectively. While Special Executive Assistant of VP Lizel Abraham of Red Team shows her competitiveness as she won champion in the Table Tennis category and crushed her fellow teammate Israel Cruz who placed 1st runner up and Kurt Pesigan of Yellow Team placed 2nd runner up.
There’s also the e-sports games for the hobbyist and online gamers Yellow Team takes over the Green team in the Mobile Legends game while the Green Team won the Call of Duty game.
Group sports category: Basketball, Volleyball and Amazing Race were the most anticipated sporting game this year. The Basketball category was dominated by the Red Team who hailed champion and made Green Team and Blue team runners up. In Volleyball, the Blue team won as champion and made Green team and Red team runners up. While the Amazing Race game made each team had fun and competed against each other which made Yellow Team champion while Red and Blue team placed 1st and 2nd.
As team sports are being valued, CBK Hardware and Mayapa CBK capped the festivities with an awarding ceremony and awarded the Green team as the Overall Champion in the first Mayapa CBK’s Sports fest while Yellow team and Red team placed 1st and 2nd overall runners up during the ceremony. The First Mayapa CBK Sports fest is one of the many exciting events CBK Hardware holds for its employees.
