In its continuing effort to UpSkill CBKians, Co Ban Kiat Hardware Inc. held a 'LeaderSHIFT' Training last September 2021. The primary goal of the leadership development initiative is to transform the values and work attitude of twelve mid-level CBKian leaders.
In a recorded video message, Ms. Anna Loraine G. Soriaga, VP – Human and Financial Capital Management, welcomed the future front-runners of the company with a meaningful message. She emphasized the significance of securing the elevated role with a change in perspective from being a follower to a leader who catalyzes progressive change within the organization.
A series of presentations were highlighted in the two-day educational experience that was led by Mr. Dominic Vedaña, Training and Employee Engagement Supervisor of the Human Resources Department. Participants were delighted to engage in multiple methods of learning both as individuals and as a team emphasizing the value of teamwork and collaboration.
In the latter part of the workshop, Ms. Arcelie U. Yam, AVP- Modern Trade Sales, likened a leader to a friend who should possess strong moral principles and is genuinely respected by peers; a leader should be good at being a friend to be effective.
“Having these positive characters and enhancing these traits take a lot of work but in the end, it will be mutually beneficial in any endeavors - the sure formula for success” she added.
Mr. Israel P. Cruz, Human Resources Manager, recognized the contributions of the twelve CBKians. Some of them started from support roles and have now stepped up to new positions. He encouraged the participants to strengthen the power of accountability in executing corporate responsibility with a higher level of function.
Human Resources Department will also be rolling out coaching and mentoring sessions to all mid-level leaders ensuring proper applications of learned knowledge and skills from the LeaderSHIFT Workshop.
